Creamy Avocado Chocolate Mousse
Indulge in a guilt-free dessert that's as delicious as it is nutritious. This avocado chocolate mousse is rich, creamy, and loaded with healthy fats and antioxidants. Best of all, it’s incredibly easy to make!
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cacao powder
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (or to taste)
- 1/4 cup almond milk (or any plant-based milk)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of sea salt
- Fresh berries, nuts, or coconut flakes for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Avocados: Slice the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a blender or food processor.
2. Blend the Ingredients: Add the cacao powder, maple syrup, almond milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt to the blender.
3. Blend Until Smooth: Blend all the ingredients until you achieve a smooth, creamy consistency. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender to ensure everything is well incorporated.
4. Adjust Sweetness: Taste the mousse and adjust the sweetness if needed by adding a little more maple syrup.
5. Chill: Transfer the mousse to individual serving dishes and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavours to meld and the mousse to firm up.
6. Serve and Enjoy: Before serving, top with your choice of fresh berries, nuts, or coconut flakes for an added touch of flavour and texture.
Tips:
- Texture: For a lighter mousse, you can add a bit more almond milk until you reach your desired consistency.
- Sweetness: The ripeness of your avocados and the type of sweetener you use can affect the sweetness. Adjust according to your preference.
- Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
Enjoy this decadent yet healthy dessert that’s perfect for satisfying your chocolate cravings without any guilt. It’s a wonderful way to showcase how versatile and delicious plant-based ingredients can be!
Happy indulging,
Love Tess xXx
